May is our special MAG appeal month and this year we are asking for:
- New linen,
- Sewing items, such as dressmaking scissors, thread, needles and pins etc.
- White cotton button through school shirts (not the 'polo' variety), as each child must have a white shirt for school.
Mission Aid Group (MAG) supports pastors, evangelists, Christian schools, bible colleges and hospitals in Tanzania. All goods collected are sent to Tanzania by container and distributed carefully through the local churches.
All items needed are listed on a brochure on the Missionary notice board and can be donated at any time.
During May the children in our church will all be receiving a pencil case and they will be asked to collect stationery items such as erasers, pencils and sharpeners etc.
In our previous ‘May is MAG month’ appeals you have been very generous and the recipients in Africa have been very grateful for the Christian love and care you have shown.
For anyone interested in finding out more about MAG, the MAG Depot has a Celebration Day on Friday 4 May at St Thomas' Anglican Church, 4 Morgan St Kingsgrove, beginning at 10am. It is an opportunity to hear from missionaries recently returned from Tanzania who have seen first hand the difference these donated items make to the work of the gospel.
